Flexible Connections

Noise produced by industrial HVAC/R equipment can be reduced to an ambient level with flexible connections. Additionally, the fabric portion of the product is collapsible, helping to make connections in tight areas between equipment and ductwork more efficient. Flexible connections may also be fabricated with TDC, formed or factory flanges.

A notch-lock system is used in the manufacturing of the flex connector material to secure the galvanized, aluminum, galvanneal or stainless steel connecting bands to the inner canvas component. Having chosen this material in part for its adherence to LEED standards, we are proud to fabricate our flexible connections suitable for commercial, residential and high-temperature applications in the full range of available gauges, fabric weights and coatings, including polyvinyl (PCD) and antimicrobial (Agion).

The material and coatings used to fabricate flexible connections are flame resistant, and the fabric passes NFPA-701 fire retardant testing requirements as well as installation standards 90A/B for A/C, warm air heating and ventilation. Waterproof and airtight ratings comply with SMACNA specifications. Factory testing of finished flexible connections, ductwork and other HVAC products made to order by Phoenix Metals is available upon request.
